After any wedding the photographs from the camera need processing and editing. Most (But not all) Photographers shoot in a file format called RAW. RAW files are different from pictures, I would describe a RAW file as what the camera was seeing with the settings you selected waiting to be developed into a Photograph.  I only shoot on digital, so think of RAW as a digital negative that still needs developing.  Don’t worry about the developing as its something that’s included in all packages as standard.
