Frequently Asked Questions
Please find below some of our recently asked questions, if your question is not answered please telephone, text or to email us click here.
Do you cover xxx ?
If the location is based anywhere in YORKSHIRE/DERBYSHIRE then we would be happy to attend at the listed prices (Subject to availability). We regularly cover events all over the Yorkshire, Derbyshire area. We are located very close to the M1/M62/A1M which makes travel extremely easy. For Weddings further afield, we may offer our services however it would depend upon how far and the package selected. Typically we allow up to 90 minutes travelling each way from the WF1 post code (As calculated by AA Route Planner) although exceptions are made.
Do you take casual shots ?
Yes, typically your photographs will be a mixture of Reportage, Traditional and Casual shots, however your exact tastes are discussed prior to your wedding. What we take really depends upon you, what you like, and what you would feel comfy doing. Its no use getting you in lots of poses if you hate it because it will show, alternatively some people look fun shots, such as running, jumping, hugging etc but some people hate this. What we take will be discussed with you prior to your wedding so we make sure we include more of what you like and less of what you don't.
Another Photographer says he will take over 1000 pictures, why don't you take that many ?
We say about 200 ish on BRONZE and SILVER packages and 400ish on GOLD because there is only so many photographs you can take in a day, well unless you wanted 10 photographs of exactly the same shot just quarter of a second later, again and again, or 10 pictures of the same scene with you just moving your head in different directions. If there is over 500 things that are worthy of taking a picture of then we will, and the numbers are just estimates based on previous weddings but seriously can you think of over 1000 things you'd like a picture of on your day ? Also we have very strict policies on what we produce, higher than many, we wouldn't dream of showing you anything that didn't meet these standards so we'll never give rubbish just to make up the numbers.
How Long do Albums take to make ?
Typically once you have selected the images you would like in your main wedding album, album proof designs will be posted onto a private web gallery approximately 3 weeks later. As all albums are hand designed without the use of templates to make each one unique they take time to create. As such it is only possible to create 2 albums per week and no more than 2 album packages are booked in any week. However during Holiday periods album requests peak and as such delays do occur. To receive your album as quickly as possible we strongly reccommend not waiting until Christmas time/New year period to submit your album choices as this often creates a huge backlog which takes weeks to clear. Once you have approved your album they will be sent for print the following monday.
If I don't like some pages in my album what do I do ?
Generally most album designs are approved with only minor little changes as you have already seen our design style from the numerous recent sample albums we always keep on display, hence the majority of people require little or no changes to the final album, however we do proof the pages before printing and ask for your input and any changes you'd like to make. We will allow for 2 seperate rounds of album changes once the initial proofs have been posted to enable you to perfect all of the details if you so wish. Changes take between 2 and 14 working days in normal circumstances although in busy periods may take longer as all design work is completed on a first come first served basis.
It took me a year to decide my album photographs, can I still have an album ?
Yes of course, some people decide what photographs they would like within a few days, some a few weeks, some a few months and occassionally some longer than that. This isn't a problem as we will always design your album for you, although we generally stock the most popular albums, less common sizes and numbers of pages are special order only and although in most cases we order these at the time of your wedding, we don't have unlimited storage room and are only able to stock uncommon album sizes/page numbers for a couple of months from your wedding date. After this period, they will need to be re-ordered from the supplier which adds a little extra time although no additional cost.
What happens if your ill on the day ?
In the unlikely event this does happen we will contact other photographers whom we know and often work with of which they are many, although not perfect we will try our best to arrange cover. We appreciate that your wedding day is a very special day for you, and we will do everything possible to ensure that it is covered.
What happens if your equipment breaks ?
Whilst this would be regretable we carry spares of every piece of equipment we possess (Ie spare Camera, spare lenses, Spare Flash etc) so it wouldn't affect your photographs.
Can you take my photographs in Black and White ?
Yes we can, we generally reccommend taking all the photographs in full colour, and afterwards they can be converted into black and white/sepia/high contrast colour very easily. This allows the client to decide which they prefer when they see the images. Where as if we take the photographs in black and white they can never be produced in colour.
Can I have my photographs on DVD ? and how much ?
Yes, all the useable photographs that we take will be presented to you on DVD in a high quality Jpeg format for you to use/print/upload as you wish. We do not charge for this service as you've already paid us to photograph your wedding, it wouldn't be ethical for us to then charge for the images.
Can I add extra services to the packages ?
Yes. Although an additional charge may apply. Although this would be discussed at your free No obligation meeting.
Can you visit me for a consultation ?
No, we run and work out of a very busy studio if clients wish to see our work they are welcome to visit the studio and we would love to see you however, we do not perform home visits.
Can I have a consultation on a night time after work ? Or on a weekend ?
Yes and Yes. We conduct inital consultations Sunday to Thursday between 9am and 9pm. So if you work during the day evening visits aren't a problem.
If I'd rather use a different album to the ones that you offer would this be ok ?
Of course, we currently have a good selection of albums in stock that we offer as standard, and most of these albums come in a choice of Colour/Size. We also have the latest Mario Acerboni catalogue on display which your welcome to browse through. If you supply your own album we also generally offer a discount.
If I do decide to use you what is the deposit ? and how do I pay ?
The deposit for any package is £100.00, with the remainder payable approximately 6 weeks before your wedding. This can be paid by CASH, CHEQUE or credit or debit card online. For customers paying by cheque, the cheque should be made payable to Amore Photography. Alternatively you can pay through the automated payment system on our website.
